There are a lot of people who are becoming interested in cooking at home these days as opposed to going out. Yet the biggest problem a lot of people face is they don’t know where to start when it comes to home cooking; what you have to do is learn as much as you can about home cooking and from there apply all that you know in order to see successful results.

Never wash chicken or other poultry. Washing it with water doesn’t eliminate the bacteria; washing merely spreads the bacteria around to your sink, utensils, and countertop. To kill any bacteria in the chicken and ensure that it is safe to eat, cook it to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Invest some time reading recipes before you actually attempt them. You will save time, and possibly money. Understanding all the components needed for a recipe beforehand will not only allow you to make sure that you have them, but it can also prevent you from making mistakes that can waste your time and ingredients.

To caramelize roasted veggies, heat your oven up as hot as it will get, and then place an empty roasting sheet inside for 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, toss the veggies with olive oil and seasonings. Place them on the heated pan and the high temperature will caramelize the vegetable sugars quickly.

After trying these steps, you should be well on your way to being a much better cook. The great thing about these tips is that if they don’t work the first time keep trying and you are sure to get better. You should notice the difference right away and your friends and family will thank you.
